Radon Measurement Test New Jersey

Testing is the only way to know if you and your family are at risk from radon.

Any home can have a radon problem. Sealed or drafty homes, with or without basements.

Homes which are next to each other can have different indoor radon levels. Testing is the only way to find out what your home's radon level is. If your radon level is 4 pCi/L or more, consult a mitigator to estimate the cost of upgrading to an active system by adding a vent fan to reduce the radon level. In an existing home, the cost to install a radon measurements system is about the same as for other common home repairs.

Radon measurement requires "closed house conditions" (see below) and a second visit by the Radon measurement technician to retrieve the canister for measurement between 48-144 hours.

Closed house conditions - For twelve hours before the test, and all during the test period, all windows and doors in the entire home must be kept closed, except for the normal entrance and exit through the doors. Heating and central air systems may be used, but not room air conditioners, attic fans, fireplaces or wood stoves.
